Ready for blueberry picking, Charlotte, NC? We are berry excited (see what I did there) to find the best berries in or within a drivable distance of Charlotte, North Carolina this summer. If you are looking for a great pick-your-own berry patch, we have a whole list for you to choose from.
The berry season here usually starts early or mid-June, but you’ll want to keep an eye on the social media pages of all these farms as picking availability is highly dependent on the weather!
A few tips for berry picking:
- Take cash with you in case they don’t take credit cards
- Most places offer a variety of fruits and vegetables in addition to blueberries
- Wear close-toed shoes in case the terrain is muddy
- Take sunscreen, bug spray, and a hat
- Do a quick check on the berry farms social media pages before visiting in case they are closed or out of berries for the season

McLawland Farms
At this farm, you can pick your own blueberries, blackberries, and raspberries. They also offer pick-your-own wildflowers, two Airbnb’s on-site you can stay in, and a wide range of fun events. Berry picking season will start at the beginning of June and you must make a berry picking appointment before going.

Wise Acres Farm
At this farm, you can pick your own strawberries, blueberries, and sunflowers. Your ticket includes access to the U-pick fields, playground, picnic areas, and more. You must make a reservation before going. Blueberry season and picking starts in early June with reservations available in May.

Cost: Admission is $3 per person (ages 3+) and blueberry pricing per pound will be posted on the Wide Acres social media when the season starts in early June. You MUST make a reservation as they don’t offer walk-up berry picking.

TLC Blueberry Farm
At this farm, you can pick your own blueberries or purchase your very own blueberry bushes to take home and plant. Blueberry season starts in early June, but blueberry plants are sold in early spring and fall. They are only open to pick on Saturdays.

The Ivy Place
At this farm, you can pick your own blueberries, strawberries, and flowers. They host many events throughout the year as well. Blueberry season starts in early June. They are open from 8 am to 4 pm every day except Wednesday which is 8 am to 8 pm.

De’Farm On Blueberry Hill
This farm features pick-your-own blueberries, mushrooms, and fun hiking trails you can enjoy. Their blueberry U-pick opening day is June 15th, 2024. They will be open Monday through Saturday 8 am to 11 am. You can make an appointment any day or time to pick after the morning hours. They recommend appointments for groups.

Brushy Mountain Berry Farm
This farm offers U-pick blueberries in early June. They are open Wednesday through Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm.

Bush-N-Vine York Stand (The Farm)
This farm offers U-pick blueberries, strawberries, a hiking trail, and a playground area. Blueberry season starts here in May and runs until July. They are open Monday through Friday 8 am to 6 pm, Saturdays 8 am to 5 pm, and closed on Sundays. You can also purchase pre-picked berries here.
Buch-N-Vine also has tasty ice cream. We test these things out you know, all the in the name of research of course. In the summer you’ll also find delicious peaches!

Campbells Berry Farm
This farm features U-pick blueberries. Their blueberry season will start at the end of June most likely around the 22nd. They are open Monday through Saturday 7 am to 7 pm and on Sundays from 1 pm to 6 pm.

Millstone Creek Orchards
This one is a little further out, (about an hour and 45 minutes from Charlotte) but they offer u-pick blueberries, u-pick raspberries, and u-pick blackberries in June. They are already open for the 2025 blackberry season, and should have blueberries starting mid-June. Millstone Creek offers a children’s play area, and even special picnic packages that can be reserved. This farm also hosts the Eastern Randolph Farmers Market on Saturdays May through August so you can pick up additional produce or shop vendors, too!
