LNP: A Seed Story with Guest Speaker Roo George-Warren

Special guest speaker Roo George-Warren, a member of the Catawba Nation, will share the story of a strain of traditional Catawba corn ‘kus iswq’ including the account of its loss, re-discovery and return to the Catawba people. This story is intertwined with the history of the Catawba people, known to themselves as “yeh is-WAH h’reh,” or “People of the River,” and modern Catawba culture and food sovereignty.
