Empire Pizza & Bar: A Favorite Spot for Pizza (near Charlotte, NC)

Posted on |

If you ask our writer Rachael where she heads when she’s craving pizza, there’s no hesitation — Empire Pizza in Fort Mill is one of her go-to spots! With its laid-back vibe, delicious pies, and one very unique brew, this local chain has definitely earned its spot on the family pizza night rotation.

What Makes Empire Pizza Stand Out?

Let’s start with the food — because yes, the pizza is really good. Whether you’re a classic pepperoni fan or want to load up with all the toppings, Empire delivers. Rachael especially loves their basil beer, brewed just for them — something you’re not going to find anywhere else. It’s one of those little local touches that makes this place feel extra special.

In her words: “They had an excellent basil beer that is brewed just for them, the pizza was great — it’s one of our favorite spots when in town.”

Fort Mill Location (and More!)

Empire Pizza has several locations, but Rachael’s favorite is the Fort Mill spot on Carolina Place Drive. While technically in South Carolina, it’s super convenient to the Charlotte area and makes a great pit stop if you’re nearby.

Here are all their current locations:

  • Fort Mill: 1504 Carolina Place Dr, Fort Mill, SC 29708
  • Indian Land: 1218 Rosemont Dr, Fort Mill, SC 29707
  • Rock Hill (Riverchase): 1405 Riverchase Blvd, Rock Hill, SC 29732
  • Rock Hill (Newport): 4811 Old York Rd, Rock Hill, SC 29732
  • Downtown Rock Hill – Little Empire: 343 Technology Center Way Suite 275, Rock Hill, SC 29730
  • Mint Hill, NC: 7024 Brighton Park Dr, Mint Hill, NC 28227
  • Pineville, NC: 8500 Pineville Matthews Rd, Suite K, Charlotte, NC 28226

No matter which location you visit, you’ll find a casual, family-friendly vibe, friendly service, and — of course — really good pizza.

Worth the Drive

Empire Pizza may be just across the South Carolina line, but it’s totally worth the drive if you’re in the area. It’s the kind of place you keep coming back to — not just for the pizza, but for the comfort of a local place that feels like home.
